Jane is an amateur astronomer, IT manager and content writer from Burlington, Canada. Her love of astronomy began as a small child when her parents would take her to view the Milky Way from dark skies.

Jane was frequently found stargazing and learning the night sky through her father's 60mm refractor telescope, and her most memorable moment was viewing Halley's comet in 1986 from their backyard.

After taking a break from astronomy for several years to focus on marriage and kids, Jane once again took up the hobby, beginning with online astronomy courses.

Jane eventually purchased an 8" Celestron Nexstar Evolution telescope and has since become hooked on everything astronomy related. She even attended a rocket launch at the Kennedy Space Center in 2022 and her first star party in 2023.

She is now branching out into astrophotography and is looking forward to acquiring a new telescope and mount shortly.

Jane is also a board member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada Hamilton Chapter, acting as Treasurer and Librarian. She is involved in many outreach events, including hosting public observing nights at the society's local observatory.
